This statement of Erdoğan has also come up in some columns and news stories at the time. The image started has entered the circulation recently is from Yıldıray Çiçek’s article called “Tuzak Kuran Baston Olan Değil Türkiye’yi düşünen MHP”, published on daily Ortadoğu in 2016.

The photo used in the articles was taken during a speech Erdoğan gave while he was in the Welfare Party (RP). The statements about the presidential system next to photo is from an interview he gave while he was the provincial head of his party in Istanbul. The interview was conducted by Metin Sever and Cem Dizdar for a book called “2. Cumhuriyet Tartışmaları (Second Republic Discussions) published by Başak publishing house.
