The claim, that the video shows a police officer sledging with children after the snowfall in Ankara, is false. The video was filmed by Bothell law enforcement in Washington, USA in February 2019.

A video, which was shared on Twitter on 4th December 2019, was claimed to show a police officer snow-sledging with children in Ankara. The officer allegedly went there upon complaint to restrain the children, but instead he got carried away with the playing.

Having received 1.5 million views and close to 25,000 likes, the video was also reported to Teyit for fact-checking.

The claim is false. Neither the video was filmed in Ankara nor the police officer is a member of Turkish law enforcement.

The footage was shot by the Bothell Police in Washington, USA in February 2019. It is possible to find other posts about that fun day on the city police department’s social media accounts.

The claim is an example of false connection, one of the most common types of misinformation on social media.
